Known as one of Maui's best swimming beaches.
Hazards
Strong currents, rip tides and seasonally high surf. Steep sloping shoreline can create backwash and strong undertow.
Topography
Protected long and wide, sandy beach lined with shade from Ironwood trees. Mixed reef, rock and sand underwater. Exposed to afternoon winds.
Not Good For
Privacy. Can often be crowded on weekends and sunny days.
